Gallipolis native and multi-media artist, Lola E. Barcus Richards will showcase select works of art at the French Art Colony. The show will kick off with a public reception, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Friday August 7.
Ms. Richards, currently a resident of Springfield, Virginia, celebrates her 90th birthday this year. This will be her 4th showing at the French Art Colony, following exhibitions in 1980, 1994, and 2004.
Primarily, she creates art with acrylic on canvas or watercolor, however, she also creates with other media as well, including; sculpture, silk screen, wood cuts, linocut, and etching. Through the years, her works have received various recognition and awards of excellence. Additionally, she is also known for her thematic collage works.
The French Art Colony, regional multi-arts center, will showcase entries in their River Recreation Festival contest. To enter your art, contact the FAC.
