152nd Annual Emancipation Day Celebration "Building The Future By Celebrating The Past"

The Emancipation Proclamation has been celebrated and observed in Gallia County, Ohio continuously since 1863. The Gallia County Emancipation Day Celebration is reported to be one of the longest continuous running celebrations of the Emancipation Proclamation in the United States. This year's Keynote Speaker is Jackie Joyner-Kersee, considered one of the greatest athletes of all time. She will speak from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Other activities include Civil War Re-enactors; Arts & Crafts; Kid's Games; Carriage & Pony Lead Rides; Health Fair; Light Concessions and other family friendly fun.
